NEW YORK CITY, New York: Bloomberg News reported that Facebook's parent company Meta Platforms will cut thousands of jobs as soon as this week, only months after it laid off more than 11,000 employees.
The report stated that the new round of job cuts is being driven by financial targets and is not connected to the "flattening."
In February, the Washington Post reported that Meta would cut jobs to reorganize and downsize its structure.
On Twitter, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone cited several previous statements by Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg suggesting that more job cuts would happen.
Meta's mass layoffs in November of more than 11,000 staff members was the first in the company's history. Google-parent Alphabet and Microsoft have also cut thousands of jobs.
